…has been the working title for the sexual health workshop I’ve been working on for the past six months. Now officially called “Sexual Health for Trans* Bodies”, the workshop aims to provide a grounding in sexual health education for people of all body types, identities and sexual orientations.
Thanks to some really great publications here in the UK from Gendered Intelligence and the Terrence Higgins Trust, sexual health for trans* people has at least received a mention in recent years, but there is still a real lack of understanding and information. Definitely, there is a lack of people delivering training (in person) that caters for people with non-binary gender identities. I am really hoping to be a part of the push to change this and both my managers and colleagues seem really keen to facilitate that, too.
I’ll be piloting the workshop at Evolve, Norwich’s monthly trans* youth support group this week and hopefully the young people will provide some useful feedback to improve the format.
